In Summer 2026, I joined MIT’s Fabricated Integrated Design Laboratory (FIDL) to work on researching die-less hydroforming.
Die-less hydroforming is the process by which edge-welded metal sheets are inflated with water to assume a 3D shape. I am very excited by the work I did this past summer with the FIDL lab. As an avid welder beforehand, being able to spend my time combining welding with scientific analyses has been eye-opening.
As this is ongoing research, I cannot show all of my work, but below find some initial inflated shapes and a PCB I designed for data recording!
