Ratatouille

Ta-da! My first combat robot! This is Ratatouille, a 1lb vertical spinner designed for a 1lb PLA-ntweight competition at Northeastern University.

A lesson I take away from Ratatouille is to never underestimate the importance of spacing for electronics. Everything looks so much larger in CAD, and it's not quite possible yet to CAD wires in a conducive way, so my first attempts to run Ratatouille were very futile since it could not fit all of the electronics inside. With a quick redesign, I was able to adjust without exceeding the 1lb weight limit.

With a lack of video game experience, driving proved very difficult for me. While Ratatouille was designed well, I had trouble using Ratatouille to the best of its abilities during combat. However, I am happy to say its design proved defensibly effective against other weapons, and I lasted through all three matches at the competition.
